To manage FTP accounts in cPanel, follow these steps:
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- In the Files section, click FTP Accounts.
- On the FTP Accounts page, you can:
- Create a new FTP account by clicking Create FTP Account.
- Edit an existing FTP account by clicking the Edit link next to the account name.
- Delete an FTP account by clicking the Delete link next to the account name.
Creating a new FTP account
To create a new FTP account, follow these steps:
- Click Create FTP Account.
- In the Log In field, enter the desired username for the FTP account.
- In the Domain field, select the domain name that the FTP account will be associated with.
- In the Password and Password (Again) fields, enter and confirm a password for the FTP account.
- In the Quota field, enter the desired disk space quota for the FTP account.
- Click Create Account.
Editing an existing FTP account
To edit an existing FTP account, follow these steps:
- Click the Edit link next to the account name.
- Make the desired changes to the account information.
- Click Save.
Deleting an FTP account
To delete an FTP account, follow these steps:
- Click the Delete link next to the account name.
- Click Delete in the confirmation dialog box.
Additional tips
- When creating an FTP account, be sure to choose a strong password.
- If you are not sure how much disk space to allocate to an FTP account, you can leave the quota blank.
- You can also use the FTP Accounts page to generate a password for an FTP account, or to download a configuration file for a popular FTP client.
